Even the most dedicated of travelers among us aren’t often able to jet off to wherever our hearts desire on a moment’s notice.

Luckily for us, there’s Instagram. As you might expect, travel and adventure photographers have taken to Instagram like ducks to water – and that means the rest of us can take a vicarious vacation just by scrolling through their accounts.

Whether you’re more of a lounging-by-the-infinity-pool traveler or the rough-and-rugged adventurer, you’ll find plenty to love in these travel photographers’ Instagram accounts.

Sam Horine

@samhorine

If you’re an urbanite at heart, you’ll love Sam Horine’s work. Horine is a New York-based photographer who focuses on images of the big city, be it New York or elsewhere. Interestingly, he’s also got a beautiful collection of urban nature photos, which pop up from time to time. We especially love the creative ways he uses focus in some of his shots.

Kash Bhattacharya

@budgettraveler

The photos on Bhattacharya’s Instagram account belie the name – looking at his shots of German castles, Australian beaches, and Venetian canals, you’d never think there was anything “budget” about these trips. Bhattacharya has been voted the UK Travel Blogger of the Year and is a featured Instagrammer for Harper’s Bazaar, La Repubblica, and Cosmopolitan.

A Lady in London

@ladyinlondon

The “lady” of A Lady in London is a San Franciscan native living in London, and she’s a professional travel blogger. You can tell, too – her images are polished and accompanied by informative, well-written captions. A Lady in London posts extensively about London, of course, but she also travels all over the world – so far, to 102 countries.

Murad Osmann

@muradosmann

Osmann is a Russian photographer who created a travel series #FollowMeTo, featuring photos of his wife, Natalia Zakharova, leading him by the hand to beautiful sites around the globe. The series went viral in 2012, and Osmann has continued posting #FollowMeTo images since then. They’re unique, inspiring, and will give you a real sense of wanderlust.

Dave and Deb of the PlanetD

@planetd

This married couple is all about adventure travel – they’ve been to places like the Mt. Everest basecamp and Easter Island, and kayaks, bicycles, and climbing gear pop up pretty regularly in their feed. If you’re a fan of their Instagram account, you’ll probably want to check out their website too, as it’s got tons of extensive blog posts, travel guides, and more.

Chris Burkard

@chrisburkard

Burkard is a photographer, speaker, and author whose photos exemplify the idea of untamed landscapes. A scroll through his feed will show you massive mountains, choppy seas, and remote valleys – it may just inspire you to hit the road yourself.

Rachel Jones

@hippieinheelsblog

For a fun mix of glamorous travel shots and more rugged adventure pics, check out Jones’ Hippie in Heels account. Jones is an American living in Goa, India, and many of her images are of the beauty and diversity of the sub-continent. She also offers travel guides and interviews with other travel bloggers on her website, hippie-inheels.com.

The Travelling Light

@travellinglight

Katie McKnoulty of The Travelling Light is a freelance marketing and branding consultant who travels the world from her home base in Kerala, India. McKnoulty’s feed will offer a dose of inspiration especially for anyone who works remotely, as she posts frequently about coworking spaces in exotic locales and working on the road.
