Seed For A Seed: Nurturing More than Memories

We’re very passionate about the environment here at the Nixplay HQ. In July, we invited Fanny Moritz of eco-friendly lifestyle concept store NO!W No Waste to share some ways to live more sustainably. We’re also working on attaining Zero Plastic Packaging status soon.

Our biggest project so far is Seed For A Seed, our tree-planting initiative in partnership with the non-profit organization Trees for the Future.

For every Nixplay Seed Frame that gets sold, a tree seed gets planted.

Seed for a Seed started in June 2017, when we asked Trees for the Future to plant 10,000 trees in Sub-Saharan Africa to create Forest Gardens. Forest Gardens provide impoverished families with sustainable food sources, livestock feed, and livelihood options.

By the end of 2018, Nixplay would have planted 193,135 trees. And with your help, we can plant thousands more.

The Forest Garden approach works.

Participating farmers reported that planting Forest Gardens reduced deforestation, helped them attain food security, and lifted them from poverty. Trees also help combat the effects of climate change, create economic opportunities, and bring people together.

In addition to Forest Gardens, Trees for the Future also provides farmers with technical training and on-site planning assistance, uplifting African communities in the most sustainable way.

8 Simple Things That Can Make Your Dorm Room More Homey

For teenagers, there are few things more exciting than entering college. Meeting new people, attending interesting classes, finding lifelong mentors who can bring out the best in them—these are all amazing experiences that can encourage good habits and build character.

And if they’re attending college far away from home, the chance to stay in a dorm is another opportunity they shouldn’t miss. That said, here are some items that can make any dorm room feel like home.

1. Clean bed sheets and fluffy pillows

These activities, however, can drain your gadget’s juice, and the “low battery” sign easily puts a damper on your “me time.” Since most dorm rooms have limited power outlets (which are usually located in the most inconvenient, impractical places), an extension cord can be a lifesaver.

5 Things You Can Do To Have The Best Summer Ever

Can you believe that summer is already here? With time flying by so fast, there’s really no time like the present to start making and preserving memories with your family and friends. Below, we listed five of the best summer activities you can do with your loved ones this season. Don’t forget to bring your camera or a phone so you can capture all the fun you’ll have!

1. Head to the beach

Summer wouldn’t be complete without a trip to somewhere warm and sunny! Head to the coast for a few days of sun, sand, and surf. Build sandcastles with the little tots, go kayaking with your significant other, and watch the sunset on the boardwalk while having ice cream with your family. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even sign up for diving or surfing lessons!

2. Visit an amusement park

Summer is the best time to visit an amusement park. Since there are no pesky rain showers to literally put a damper on your fun, you can go try out all the rides at the park. Take over the bumper cars, hop on the carousel with the kids, and ride the biggest, scariest roller coaster you can find. You can also try all the fair games—if you’re lucky, you might even get to bring home an adorable stuffed toy. 3. Go camping

Taking photos is one of the best ways to preserve life’s most precious moments, whether it’s a Sunday dinner with the whole family or your grandchild’s first steps. But what do you do with all the pictures you’ve taken? Saving them on your computer is the first step, but it seems like a waste to just let them languish on a hard drive forever.

Because Nixplay’s joining the Google Photos Partner Program and using the Google Photos Library API, you’ll soon be able to securely access even more of your most treasured memories on your Nixplay Wi-Fi Cloud Frames anytime, anywhere.

During the 2018 Google I/O Developers’ Summit held on May 8 in Mountain View, California, it was announced that Nixplay will be one of the first companies to launch its integration with Google Photos to its customers in the coming months. With this development, Google Photos will soon send your albums directly to your Nixplay Wi-Fi Cloud Frames, eliminating the need for you to spend precious time selecting photos for your playlists.

The best part is that if you’ve sent albums from Google Photos to your Nixplay frame, every time a new image is added into one of those albums on Google Photos, it will also be automatically uploaded to and viewable on your frame. This feature is especially great for people who live away from their loved ones, as this presents a new way for them to stay connected to them. Now, not only will your treasured moments be within reach, but you’ll always be in touch with those who matter most in your life.
